We've dedicated our farm and event center to Dr. Randy Lea ("Doc Lea"). He designed the log home and never stopped dreaming about the possibilities of this beautiful land. He grew up surrounded by music in New Orleans and wanted his retirement to be filled with music of all kinds. A lover of nature and an avid outdoorsman, he set the stage for the ranch that now exists. He was married to Luann Shortt, who grew up in these Ozark hills and together they dreamed of writing books and hosting writer's retreats in the quiet solitude of the Ozarks. They never had the opportunity to write their first book or open up the home to other writers as cancer took them both too soon.
Daughter and son-in-law now work to fulfill this dream. Animals now crow, cluck, bark, bleat and graze in the fields. Trails are taking shape through the forest, where you might see woodpeckers, roadrunners and other wildlife. We dedicate it to you, dad. Thanks for inspiring us.
